2022 Benicio/Quaterhall in utero available- COLT option only
We are so excited about this foal!!!
Quater Twist WSH is a Premium Hanoverian mare who has already produced so well for us with 2 outstanding foals so far, and we have high hopes for an exceptional 2022 foal! Quater Twist is continuing in her training, so we have flushed the embryo out of her and it has successfully implanted to a lovely recipient mare Gracie.
Quater Twist WSH was started under saddle as a 3 year old, and successfully competed at the prestigious Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, placing very high in the Governor General class for sport horses. As a 4 year old she was prepared for her mare performance test with the Hanoverian Verband, and she had fantastic results, she was awarded the Champion Dressage mare by Dr. Ludwig Christman from Germany. She was also awarded the Premium mare candidate title. As a 5 year old she delivered her first foal, which also completed her Premium mare requirements, so she is now a Premium mare with the Hanoverian Verband. Quater Twist did her first embryo transfer while she had her foal at side, and it successfully resulted in her 2021 foal by Secret. As a 6 year old she was brought back into training after weaning her foal, and competed at Gold competitions under Inga Hamilton in the open division. She scored as high as 76% in her first competition, and won the season Reserve Champion title despite only having competed in 4 classes, all of which were required to count towards championships! She frequently scored 8s and 9s for her walk and trot work, and even scored a perfect 10! Her 2021 filly delivered by a recipient mare was awarded a Gold Medal foal by the Hanoverian Verband. While competing she was bred to Benicio, and the embryo was retrieved and put into a recipient mare for 2022. Quater Twist is by the great stallion Quaterhall (Quaterback/Donnerhall) out of a mare by Glorioso Noir. Quater Twist has had an eventful and successful career so far proving to be both an incredible mother and producer, and an athlete who preforms well!
In October 2007, the stud, Callaho, traveled to the Hanoverian stallion licensing in Germany to find a Bellisimo M colt with which to bolster their dressage breeding program having been extremely impressed by the sons and track record of this exciting sire. At his 30-day stallion performance test in Zweibrucken (2002), Bellisimo cast a shadow over his peers with a final dressage score of 9.63, the highest ever awarded to a stallion at the time. He then went on to win the 4yr old Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. His first foal crop yielded eleven licensed sons and the reserve and champion mares at the German nationals.
Licensing Champion by Benicio x Don Diamond sold for a whopping 630,000 euros at the 2021 German Sport Horse Stallion Licensing.
After 3 days of rigorous screening in Verden, Callaho settled on catalogue No 3, a liver chestnut with flashy white markings. Although still immature, they were convinced by Benicio's excellent basic paces and an exemplary, if unfashionable, dam-line. His mother, St.Pr.Valencia, was reserve champion mare in Germany in 2002 and also produced the champion foal (Benicio's full brother) of the German Foal Championships. Damsire, Velten Third, was an International dressage competitor himself and his sire in turn, Velten Sohn, was the most successful dressage stallion of his day and competed at the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
After his licensing, Benicio was taken to South Africa. Two years later, however, having been convinced by the high quality of his foals and his extraordinary potential for advanced level dressage, Callaho returned him to Germany to be professionally trained by Anna-Sofie Fiebelkorn for sport and to earn his full breeding approval for the Hanoverian Studbook.
The rest is History. This remarkable partnership elevated Benicio out of nowhere to win the 2011 German Bundeschampionate for the six year old dressage horses and the Stallion Performance Test at Schliekau with perfect 10's for walk, trot and canter. His final score for the dressage section, 9.88, superseded even that of his father and is the highest score ever achieved in the history of the stallion performance test. With these scores, combined with his faultless rideability and character, this incomparable stallion has captivated the European dressage and breeding community.
Both Quater Twist WSH and Benicio have been tested and are negative for WFFS.
The foal will be chestnut, hopefully liver chestnut considering both parents are liver chestnut, and almost certainly the foal will be colourful! Both Benicio and Quater Twist have significant white markings, Quater Twist has some small belly spots and a neck spot, and her 2021 filly had a huge belly spot!! Benicio is 16.2h, and Quater Twist is 17.0h, so the foal should finish a solid size of approximately 16.2h-17.2h.
Sold! This colt was claimed quickly after arriving!! Watch for them in the dressage ring one day!!
